13-inch vs 15-inch — which to buy?
The 13.6″ M2 Air weighs just 1.24 kgand fits in any bag — ideal for commuting on the Metro or working from a coffee shop in DIFC. The 15.3″ M2 Air weighs 1.51 kg and gives you a noticeably larger screen plus a bigger battery, all in the same thin profile. If your Air never leaves your desk, get the 15″ for AED 400 more. If you carry it daily, the 13″ is the one.
8GB vs 16GB RAM — is the upgrade worth AED 500?
For browsing, Office, video calls, and light photo editing: 8GB is fine. For developers running Docker, Xcode, or VS Code with many extensions; for photographers with large Lightroom catalogues; or for anyone who keeps dozens of browser tabs open: 16GB is worth the AED 500 extra— it dramatically reduces swap-memory wear on the SSD and keeps the Mac fast for years longer. RAM cannot be upgraded later, so buy the right amount now.

What about the M3 Air — is it worth the extra AED 700?
The M3 Air launched in March 2024 and starts at AED 2,200 used. It is roughly 17% faster on CPU and 25% faster on GPU than the M2, supports two external displays (vs one on the M2 with the lid open), and has a slightly brighter screen. But for most users — browsing, Office, video calls, light editing — you will not feel the difference. The M3 Air only makes sense if you specifically need dual external monitors or you want the newest possible chip for the longest useful life. Otherwise, save the AED 700 and buy the M2.
